Two of my loves are sculpting and jewelry, so it only makes sense to put those two together, right?!
Here are some of my creations and tips and ideas for making your own.
If you’ve never made your own clay jewelry before, round beads are a good place to start. Just roll clay balls of various sizes and use a toothpick or a straightened paper clip to make a hole through each bead. You can slightly flatten the ball a bit before making the hole to create beads like the ones in the photo above.
Here I made beads in different sizes and mixed them with store-bought beads. I flattened some and stamped a small design into the clay. I just used the top of a glue bottle to create a very simple design. In other beads, I used a toothpick to make small dot-like indentions.
Here are a couple more ideas for earrings. For the pink pair, I simply added tiny bits of other colors of clay before flattening and smoothing out the bead. For the blue earrings, I used a toothpick and a bent paperclip to make a textured floral design.
TIP: When stamping or pressing a design into your bead, it’s a good idea to do so while the clay is still on the toothpick or whatever you are using to make the holes in your beads. That way, the hole doesn’t get pushed closed and the design isn’t disturbed.
Now go make some clay jewelry of your own & share your creations! These make great gifts as well!
A big thanks for stopping by 🙂
