Easy DIY Kaleidoscope

OohColors

Oooooooh coloooors! Make your own kaleidoscope with just a few supplies. An important supply is reflective cardboard (we used a cakeboard cut down). Another option is mylar cardstock. It just needs to be mirror-like reflective and sturdier than average paper. We tried cardboard covered in foil, and it did not work out well at all for us.

Use toilet paper tubes or paper towel tubes. We prefered the effects the shorter toilet paper tubes created, but both worked.

To attach the plastic circle to the end, in the final step, you can use tape or hot glue. We tried both methods and it worked well both ways.

We also found that you don’t need the beads. The kaleidoscope is lots of fun without them! Give it a try and experiment with pointing the kaleidoscope at different things.
